Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit, has designed a unique keycase to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bentley brand. Made of Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying "B" paperweight, a set keys and a brochure featuring never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.

It's a great present to greet a new owner of their luxurious vehicle.

Aesthetics

As a design-centric company Bentley takes its aesthetics extremely seriously. Design

Bentley has released a special specification for cars manufactured after 2019 to commemorate its centenary. This is called the Centenary Specification. This includes contrast stitching and cross-stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests seats, the interior and other areas of the car. This makes it more fun to celebrate. The Centenary Specification also includes a customized Bentley keycase to complete the Bentley experience.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key has two buttons: one that opens the trunk, and another that starts the vehicle. Bentley estimates that it requires 500 man-hours to build and construct a Mulsanne. A key to that time-consuming effort is a deliberate refusal to take advantage of modern technology. The Crewe factory workers don't use a machine to space perfectly matched leather seats. Instead, they do it by hand. Drivers must park their cars manually, rather than relying on sensors built into the vehicle to direct them to perpendicular and parallel spaces.

In the course of the event, Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization capabilities by presenting one particular example of the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the founder William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars include a key that displays the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
