It's possible to replace your SAAB key fob if you're experiencing difficulty turning the lock barrel. It's quite simple and doesn't require you to visit a dealer. Instead you can do it yourself at home by using a few simple tools.

You'll first need to prepare the keys for your new car. Before you start, disable the anti-theft feature by placing blocks under the rear wheels and activating your handbrake. Then, you can insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position that activates the accessories but it doesn't start the engine. Repeat this five times, and then keep the key on the "on" position.

To open the case, put a flathead screwdriver inside the slot in the middle. Gently work it. When you've split the case, you'll be able to access all the internal electronics. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pull out the electronic components.
