Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

If you want a basic robot vacuum without the features that make other models, this is a great choice. It is capable of picking up pet hair, kitty litter and Cheerios on hardwood floors and even sucked up sand during my tests.

It quickly maps rooms and offers solid obstacle avoidance. It can be controlled manually via the included remote.

1. Roomba from iRobot

The s9+ robot vacuum is one of the best we've tested for cleaning hard floors and carpets. It has the most powerful suction of any robotic cleaner available and is excellent at removing pet hair. It can be programmed to make multiple passes or adjust suction levels based on the size of the room, which is a feature which we haven't encountered in other models. The app allows you to modify the way it operates, and even select the time it starts working so that you can be present in the room when it spins around.

Smart mapping produces a comprehensive home map to assist the S9+ in navigating efficiently and plan routes. It also self-empties so you don't have to be present to assist. It is also able to recharge itself in mid-clean. The s9+ could navigate around obstacles like tables and power cables with any difficulty. It never lost charge and didn't get stuck. It lacks the hazard-avoidance features of recent models, and it can get tangled on rug tassels and other obstacles it isn't able to see.

Unlike most circular robots, the s9+ has a flat front and has a squared front that helps it access corners better than round models. It's also quieter than the previous iRobot model we tried and is smaller than the Neato Botvac D7. It's not cheap, but it's a good value considering how well it performs and the fact that you don't have to worry about cleaning the trash afterward. It's often available for sale during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The j7+ robotic vacuum is among the most intelligent vacuum cleaners on the market. It's equipped with irobot models Genius technology that gives it the ability to recognize obstacles and maneuver around them, which means that you don't have to worry about it hitting into furniture or walls. It also slows down when it approaches an object so that it can gently clean edges. This is particularly useful for pet owners with small animals who leave behind messes.

Another amazing feature of the J7+ is that it can mop and vacuum, thanks to a special mopsitter. When it notices that you're on a floor that needs to be cleaned it switches to the standard cleaning mode and activates the robot arm with a pad attached. It mops the floor with a light-touch that left my floors looking and feeling as if they'd been meticulously cleaned.

The J7+ recharges itself once it has finished mopping. It then drives to the spot where it started, and continues to clean. It runs for about 85 minutes at my house and can be minus or plus a few minutes. That's less than the s9+, but it's nonetheless impressive for a device that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The j7+, like other irobot vacuum mop vacuum cleaners, evades obstacles and recognizes them. It also features what iRobot refers to as Cliff Detect Technology, which keeps it from falling down the stairs. It's a fantastic safety feature for families.

The j7+'s bin onboard is quite small, so you'll have to return it to the dock to empty it frequently in the event that your home is big. However the j7+ is incredibly easy to store. The included all-in-one Clean Base acts as charging dock, a separate dustbin, and an internal bin that the j7+ can put dirt into.

3. Shark iQ

This robot vacuums carpets and hard surfaces at the same time. It also features Matrix Clean Navigation, which makes use of a grid to provide whole-home cleaning coverage. The vacuum is empty after every run and you can view the current battery's life and condition by looking at the two lights that are on top. Press the button to open the bin and empty it. The Shark iQ costs more than the iRobot Roomba j7+ but offers superior app features and mapping, as well as superior performance on all surfaces. It also charges faster and gets caught less often on tassels for the rug, which reduces recurring costs. This model is unable to avoid pet bowls or furniture. You need to use physical boundaries strips to keep the model from these items.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

This model is a fantastic value in the sub-$300 category of robot vacuums. It comes with a three-stage cleaning system with dual multi-surface brushes that remove dirt from carpets and hard floors. A tool for edge-sweeping takes the care of edges and corners. The robot vacuum also comes with a slew of convenience features, including Dirt Detect, which automatically is more active in heavily soiled areas. It can also be controlled manually to clean at certain intervals, and also has an app for remote control.

The iRobot Roomba is not as sophisticated but it is not as advanced as the i7. It does not include a mapping feature, nor the capability of creating virtual boundaries. It is more durable and has lower monthly costs than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also has a bigger dust bin and can charge more quickly.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s is an incredibly small, attractive robot vacuum that gives an excellent value for the money. It has a large dirt container and can run for long periods of time, and is effective in cleaning pet hair. It's hard to maintain and navigation is a major issue. It's not equipped with an app companion to it and voice control, however it does have a user-friendly remote. It doesn't let you know when the dust bin is full. You'll have to check it regularly.

The eufy is superior to the Bobsweep Bob Pro in most ways, but it's not as good as the iRobot Roomba 694 in many others. The iRobot Roomba 694 is better built, has fewer parts to maintain, a HEPA-filter that lasts longer on a single charge and offers superior cleaning performance for floors with no floor high-pile, low-pile, and high-pile. It also has a smarter navigation system that can maneuver around obstacles and more advanced automated features, including boundary strips.

Although the eufy remains a decent choice I would suggest the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for most users. The irobot self emptying vacuum is better built, simpler to maintain, has a bigger dustbin, and offers better performance on all surface types. It is also quicker to recharge and has a longer battery life.

The eufy is also an excellent alternative to the ILIFE A4s. However, it's not as effective as a top-end robot such as the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The iRobot is built better, has a larger dustbin and has lower ongoing costs. It also has a more advanced automation capability, such as boundary stripes and a navigation algorithm that is smarter. The iRobot also absorbs pet hair more effectively, and it's easier to maintain than the eufy.
