The ION XL is not as sophisticated as the iRobot J7+, but it's an excellent alternative if you don't wish to spend more than $500 for cleaning robots. It's superior to the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways it is also easier to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It's also superior at cleaning floors with no carpet and picking up pet fur, but not as good on low- or higher-pile carpet.

It's not as sturdy, but it's still an excellent option. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, and it can be controlled via an app and voice commands, and is easy to keep up with maintenance. It also has an affordable price.
