In 1999, the band released Mindfields and begins an extensive tour across the globe. After several weeks in Europe, the band heads to Japan for sold-out shows. After a short hiatus, Toto resumes their recording and releases their first live album, Absolutely Live in 1993. This includes a cover version of Weezer's hit song Hash Pipe as a response to the band's performance in Africa on their recent tour. Toto's touring group is comprised by drummer Lenny Castro, bassist Shannon Forrest and keyboardist Shem von Schroeck.
