Types of UPVC Door Handles

Lever/Lever

Lever/Pad

Lever pad handles, also referred to as upvc door handles, have levers on each side to operate the multipoint locks. They are available in a variety of variations & finishes and are suitable for a range of materials including UPVC, Aluminium & Timber doors. They are sold as a pair for the inner and outer door with spindles & screws included. They are also available in handed and unhanded versions for different types of users.

They are commonly used in new constructions and are fitted to replace doors made of upvc. The levers are lifted to open all multipoint locks, and the key is turned to close or unlock the door. They offer a little more security than standard lever door handles, as the locking can only be performed from the inside using keys.

They're not as secure as a cylinder bolt, but are a reasonable option to provide extra home security. The only drawback is that they don't have the same level of protection like a cylinder bolt and consequently don't block access to outside in the event that the door has been left open.

The E-LOK app is able to unlock doors using RFID cards or a mechanical keys. Passcodes are also offered for security and convenience. The system has been tested to 200 000 cycles to ensure long-term durability. The handles are constructed of solid metal and are in compliance with BS EN 1670 Grade 5 for resistance to corrosion.

Lever/Moveable Pad

This popular handle style is used for front doors. It offers the benefit of preventing the door from being opened without the key from outside if the lock has not been deadlocked. This is achieved by an external 'pad' handle which locks in the gap between the handles and the lock case to stop the latch from being removed or the door from being opened.

This type of handle is made for uPVC doors fitted with multipoint locks that operate with split spindle operations. This kind of operation requires the internal lever handle and the external door handles and locks pad handle to be installed to the same lock case. This can be a simple change from the current uPVC handles, but it could also require a change to the lock case or a brand new set of handles to accommodate this additional functionality.

These aluminum levers and movable pads door handles are able to be used on uPVC and come with an easy-to-maintain slide bearing. They also come with fixing lugs, spring cassettes and a non-stick slide bearing. These handles feature a euro-profile cut out, and can be mounted on various uPVC or timber doors.

The lever-movable pad is available in a variety of designs to fit a broad selection of multipoint locks. They are designed to work with split spindle multipoint locks which have a 92mm cylinder and require a separate split spindle set that is provided by the lock manufacturer.

Lever/Moveable Snib

Lever handles are among the most popular types of upvc doors handles. They come in many designs. It is comprised of two handles that can be moved and locked using a thumbturn cylinder or a key. Pad handles can be used as an alternative to lever or lever handles. It consists of either one that is fixed or moveable that can be used to operate locks. These Fullex handles have a sprung lever pad and a snib which can be activated in order to hold the latch.
