Travel strollers aren't any smaller or lighter than this one. Its sleek design is simple to fold into a neat rectangle shape and the wheels turn more easily than some other models.

The stroller also comes with an enormous storage area underneath the seat as well as an adjustable shoulder strap that makes it easier to carry when you're not pushing it. The canopy adjustment can be a bit noisy which can disturb a toddler who is sleeping.

1. Contours Itsy

A compact stroller The Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its small size. The back basket under the seat is spring loaded, meaning that you can pull it down to stuff a diaper bag or backpack into and it will then pop up to secure the contents. It also comes with an accessory tray for children and an adjustable backrest pad for the seat and a reclining seat back pad, which offer more options than what you usually get on a stroller that is light.

In addition, it has a great canopy that can open and close to provide the sun protection you need, and the handlebar is adjustable in height four positions for a comfortable fit. We weren't as impressed with its ride quality over rough terrain. We found that the suspension and wheels did not perform a great job of absorbing bumps and shocks.

The stroller is perfect for travel because it comes assembled in the box. It takes only just a few steps to be ready to use. The seat can be moved forward and backward to adjust the recline and is pretty flat. It's a cinch to fold and unfold thanks to two buttons on the frame. It also fits into an easy-to-carry bag when it's not being used. It's actually one of the smallest strollers that we tested and it easily meets most airline requirements for gate-checking, or cabin storage, on airplanes. Check with your airline to find out whether there are any restrictions prior to your flight. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus

This is an excellent option for those who are looking for a stroller that is light and easy to carry. It has all the features that parents want in a stroller. It comes with all-terrain tires and front suspension to ensure smooth riding. It's also very light and weighs less than 12 pounds. And it has a convenient fold that can be folded with one hand and a self-standing fold. It has two cup holders on each tray to accommodate the parent and child.

Its build quality, however, is a little at the lower end and it did not perform well in our tests of maneuverability. It is a slender frame which makes pushing it across rough surfaces feel like lifting weights. This may be okay for those who only use the stroller on smooth streets, but for the majority people, it's going to not be comfortable.

Cloud Plus Cloud Plus has a three-tier extended canopy and a peek-a-boo window for added sun protection. The seat is multi-position and can hold children up 50 pounds and features a five-point safety restraint. This is a great option for older toddlers who have outgrown their car seats for infants.

It is compact and folds in one step. It can be collapsed by pressing a button. It also comes with a convenient foot-activated break that is easy to create and then release.

However, the handle is lower than many of the other strollers we tested and some parents may feel uncomfortable for long durations. It does have the ability to lock the handle to keep it in place when opened however. This is an excellent feature if you plan to use the stroller on uneven or muddy terrain.

3. Munchkin Sparrow

The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the perfect travel stroller for parents who are always moving. This compact stroller is a breeze to fold up and down, and fits easily in overhead compartments on planes and in trunks at amusement parks (no more worrying about parking fees). It also comes with an easy-zip carrying bag for easy storage. It can be used with the infant car adapter right from birth and provides good sun protection with its canopy. The only downside for certain parents is that they find the look cheap and utilitarian.

The BabyZen Yoyo+ stroller is more expensive than other lightweight single strollers. However, it was specifically designed for urban living and luxurious travel. It is one of the strollers that fold easily, and comes with a handy carry case. It has plenty of storage space as well as a cupholder. The seat is comfortable for the adult and child, and reclines to a near-flat position. This is the only stroller on our list that comes with a car seat adapter to allow it to be used with a newborn. The handlebar isn't adjustable and could be a problem for some parents who are short.

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the lightest stroller, however it is packed with great features to assist parents in traveling with their children. The spacious seat reclines to a pretty flat position, and has additional padding to make the naps on planes last longer. The extendable canopy has plenty of sun coverage and the tray on the front has plenty of storage. It also features a spring-loaded footrest that doubles as a handle when folded. This footrest is prone to damage by baggage handlers.

4. Uppababy Minu V2

Uppababy Minu V2 is an elegant stroller with a high-end design and quality. Its compact size makes it easy to maneuver narrow streets and tight spaces, but its sturdy construction means it can take on rough terrain without compromising your child's comfort. Front and rear spring-action suspensions create a noticeably more comfortable ride for both of you, while its sturdy materials ensure it can stand up to everyday wear and tear without losing its shape. Plus it can be extended to accommodate additional accessories like a bassinet or infant car seat.

In our testing, the Minu was a breeze to fold and move around even with a baby in the hand. Its squat nearly square fold which folds in thirds, is among the easiest in our tests and allows it to fit in overhead compartments on planes or public transportation. It has a single-action, color-coded brake that is simple to use.

The seat comes with a multi-position recline as well as a one-handed adjustable leg rest, so it's easy to find the perfect position for your child. The UPF 50+ hood came down quite far and was ideal for protecting Cora's eyes from the sun (though not as low as some other strollers). There's also a medium-sized mesh peek-aboo window which closes magnetically, and is glued to the canopy, rather than using noisy Velcro.

With a weight of just under 15 pounds at just under 15 pounds, the Minu is easy to carry with a built-in handle and shoulder strap. It can be tucked away in the trunk of your vehicle, and comes with a storage box and Uppababy TravelSafe, which extends the manufacturer's warranty by two years and provides the cost of replacement if something is damaged in the course of air travel.

5. Joovy Aire

Joovy is an established brand that makes several strollers. This lightweight model is a great choice for parents who want a sturdy stroller that can transport kids around, offers ample storage, is easy to maneuver and doesn't require a high engineering degree to fold. This model isn't suitable for those looking for a double stroller or a car-seat compatible model. It isn't compatible with infant car seats. Your baby must be able sit up on their backs before you can use it.

This stroller single is loaded with features and comes at a very affordable price. It scored a higher rating in our maneuverability review than other strollers with similar specs, and is an excellent choice for smooth paved surfaces. It comes with a large parent tray, a canopy and plenty of storage. The front wheel suspension is a little stiff and the handlebar is smaller than average, but it provides an enjoyable ride for adults.

If you have twins or two kids with different ages, you may consider a stroller that is side-by-side is the best option to get them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove. It has a lot of features and a small footprint which means it can be placed in places that other side-by-side strollers won't.

It has a big canopy, with a peek-aboo window and plenty of storage. It's heavier than other side-bysides but it has a reasonable capacity and weight limit. It can carry the majority of kids up to 50 pounds. It is possible to add an infant bassinet to the front of the stroller for newborns.
