With Bentley's 100th anniversary looming next year, the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition of Mulsanne. It pays tribute to the company's founding father, W.O. Bentley and includes a portion of one of his personal cars.

The model is ordered as a regular Mulsanne, Mulsanne Speed or Mulsanne Long Wheelbase. It was inspired by a 1930 8 Litre Bentley owned by W.O. was using as his personal vehicle. Its influence can be felt throughout the cabin which includes the Mulliner illuminated cocktail cabinet that features an opening window that shows an image of the original crankshaft of the 8 Litre car that is displayed inside.

W.O. is emblazoned in the form of a B-shaped photoetched air vent on the chrome appliqué that runs along the back side of the vehicle. The front grille is designed on 1930s-inspired Onyx, and there's an additional chrome-colored application on the lower spoilers on the left and right. The front grille is unique, gaining a chrome shell instead of the typical body-colored mesh as in the standard Mulsanne and incorporating the Flying B logo as well.

The key box is decorated with bentley key fob cover wings and has the lining of black flock. Individual key pouches can be bought to match or contrast the key box. The commemorative set includes a 1:18 scale model and the flying "B" paperweight. It also contains a printed booklet featuring never-before seen images of the original Bentley 8 Litre.

Van Braekel says, "We wanted the knurling to look as consistent and attractive" as is possible. "It was also important to maintain a recognizable size and shape."

More than 400,000 stitches give Bentley's signature diamond-in-diamond quilting across the entire cabin, and the mood lighting can be altered to suit different moods.

Outside illuminated treadplates, clocks with brushed silver are available as standard. New 22in wheels come with self-levelling Bentley logos.
