Inline Lever/Lever

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The window handles replacement of uPVC/Composite are constructed of tough materials and are ideal for multi-point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline and use the same screws and spindle to fix them. They can be easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite door.

The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be positioned and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles, which will ensure the quality of the finish and the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is adjustable to fit a broad range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is further back in the door. A shorter lever is an ideal choice for doors where the latch could be opened by a thumb turn located on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently than lever handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handle types can either operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically used on UPVC double-glazed doors and are available in a variety of variations and finishes.

The handles are available in various finishes, including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle a high performance and durability to serve its intended purpose.

All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws, and can be fitted on a uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm permit a bigger size handle that can be beneficial when replacing a faulty or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. These levers for handles are also sprung, solving the problem of handles that slide out of their horizontal position when they are not in use.

When choosing a replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is essential to match the dimensions of the PZ of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is also called the handle centre or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect in ensuring that you have the right handles.

Once you have decided on the correct size of PZ it is important to ensure that the push and lever pads are shaped to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They are usually a square or round design with an internal lever and an external push pad.

The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads we offer are sprung. This means that they can be reverted to a horizontal position when not in use instead of hanging and possibly sticking in the frame. This prevents drafts and cold air from getting into a house. The majority of UPVC lever pad handles come in both left and right handed models, allowing them to be installed on either side of doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder case that then reveals pins which can be aligned with those in the lock body and permitting them to turn an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with external and internal doors generally requiring different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is essential; it is contingent on the way your doors and replace window handle are used. External doors, for example are required to be fitted with higher security cylinders and doors inside can be secured using the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that can improve security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump features.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn should there be one. It is best to do this with the lock in place however, in the event that this is not possible, you can remove it to measure. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon could be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, therefore it is essential to make sure it's not too long.

The design of most newer cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the chances of an attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This can help stop the attack and keep your doors safe.

There are also cylinders that are made to resist snapping. This is an increasingly common type of attack on cylinders, which is where the break line of the lock is attacked by a tool that is specially designed to break the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. This is a lot faster and easier to achieve than opening a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in which can hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is found within the base plate of the door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to help return the multipoint lock handles to their normal position after using. In the past, a lot of uvpc window handles did not have a spring built into them, and as a result, they tend to droop or drop once the locking mechanism is removed. This simple component is the most effective way to solve this issue. It also helps prevent your door from becoming stuck in either the closed or open position since they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a sprung multipoint locks. They won't work with handles that are not sprung, and you will have to cut a hole in the backplate to allow them to fit. (Please see the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes in the backplates of door uvpc window handles of numerous kinds of uPVC doors. They are sold as a single unit. They come with a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
